Nila and the Firefly
Story · by Ayaan · Class 8 · Banyan Tree School, Indore
Nila was afraid of the dark.
Nila was afraid of the dark. One night, a tiny firefly floated into her room and blinked its yellow light. "Why are you afraid?" it seemed to ask. Nila followed it to the window and saw hundreds of fireflies dancing in the garden. The dark did not look scary anymore; it looked like a sky full of tiny stars on the ground. Nila clapped softly. From then on she kept her curtains open, and the fireflies visited every summer.
