Coral reefs cover less than one percent of the ocean floor, but about a quarter of all sea creatures live in or near them.

Coral reefs cover less than one percent of the ocean floor, but about a quarter of all sea creatures live in or near them. Corals are tiny animals that build hard skeletons of limestone. Warm, clean, shallow water helps them grow. Scientists worry because warming oceans make corals lose their colours. You can help by saving energy and not throwing plastic into rivers and seas.

Reported by Samar, Class 8, Horizon Public School, Ranchi (young reporter).
