An Octopus Has Three Hearts
Edulin Children’s News · Week of 13 September 2026
It is true!
It is true! An octopus has three hearts. Two pump blood through the gills, and one pumps blood to the rest of the body. Its blood is blue because it carries oxygen using a substance called copper instead of iron. Octopuses are also super clever; some can open jars and escape from tanks. Ocean scientists are still discovering new things about them every year.
Reported by Vihaan, Class 7, Riverside Public School, Guwahati (young reporter).
